Works good for what the job is needed for. Only thing I have a complaint about is that the head spins, but it’s not too hard to deal with.

Only reads up to 8 lb pull. Have some triggers that have higher pull so will have on order another tool that can read the trigger pull. It is a good tool, only limited in its capability. Easy to use, simple design, no batteries or assembly required.

The package was cut as though this might have been a returned item. It listing did not indicate it was not new, but it works, so there's that. I have no other reference to check accuracy, but it gave me the information I was looking for. I'll use it!

Fit and finish look surprisingly good for a trigger-pull gauge costing less than 20 bucks. The pull mounts smoothly and leaves behind a marker at the maximum weight attained. There's nothing fancy about this gauge, but it should suffice for anyone needing a +/- 2-ounce reading of where their trigger is breaking. Also, since this gauge maxes out at 8 pounds, it might very well come up short for measuring double-action handgun triggers, which often break at up to 10 or 12 pounds. But if your need is for measuring less than 8 pounds of pull and you're okay with 2 ounces either way, this gauge is pretty hard to beat for the money.

Works well, but it would be better if it was capable of more like 11 pounds or so for OEM double action triggers. Worked fine to measure post-upgrade trigger pull weight, but I was unable to measure original double action trigger pull weight.
  • Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2024
On first attempt to use this I got wildly inaccurate results to the extent that they were useless. I then realized that the technique used to take the measurement matters a whole lot and I was going to need to experiment to get any sort of useful result. For example; the gun has to be very securely mounted, such as in a vice. Any movement at all and the number will be off. Forget about holding the gun in one hand and pulling the gauge with the other! The placement of the hook on the trigger is also critical. Too high up the trigger and you will get an incorrectly high reading and conversely too low and you will get a lower reading. You have to place the hook right in the middle of where the pad of your trigger finger would fall and pull the gauge back horizontal to the line of the barrel.

At the end of the day even with perfect technique I'm not convinced a gauge like this is going to tell you anything more accurate than you have a 10lb or a 5lb trigger. My finger can tell me that!
