Doesn’t work for liberty safes’ top shelf

Doesn’t work for liberty safes’ top shelf
These are for the most part a no brainer purchase if you have a safe, however it only works with shelves that don’t have a support beam underneath it. I have a liberty safe and the shelf I’m going to use for it has a support beam that runs through the center to keep the shelf from bowing. This beam is about 7.75” deep from the edge of the shelf. The hooks are about 10 inches deep which means the only usable areas of that shelf are the extreme edge which can fit about three handguns per side. The whole center section becomes not usable with these hooks. On another note there is definitely one side better off clamping around the shelf and one side for your gun to hang from, so if they droop, flip the hook around. Lastly to note slides with optics will not work with these. I am returning them but not because they don’t do what they claim to do but because I bought the 12 pack and would not be able to use all of them the way my safe is configured.

    I ordered the 6 pack of these. 5 out of the 6 were properly plasti coated, the 6th didn't adhere and left a sharp bur which i suspect is based on the metal itself have a bur. they are easy to install, but you may want to have a light in your safe when you try to place your pistol on it, you can do it by touch if you don't mind a slight in convenience. mounted on a higher shelf would also help. of course, they won't' work with slide mounted optics. They seem strong and have no problem holding a full-size semi with a loaded mag and light/laser. Haven't tried it with a full-sized revolver but I imagine that it would be dependent on the barrel length, which would move the weight further back on the hanger/rod. Overall they are worth the money for what you get.

    I love these, and I own many sets of them. They work very, very well, and are easy to install.
    They're both strong, and durable.
    I did find one issue with them, and it's interesting to me. In my gun safe I have installed additional shelving. Those shelves were made of 5/9" plywood. Interestingly, the crappy shelves (MDF) that come standard in most modern gun safes is made from 1/2" material, making these hangers a less-than-perfect fit.
    Truth be told, most gun safes are poorly built, and then sold at a premium. You'd probably do well to chuck all the MDF shelving and replace them with quality plywood. But... this is another issue.
    Great gun hangers, and very versatile. Makes crowded gun safes easier to work in since they really require no room, at all. The fact that the gun hangs from the shelf above it means that the shelf below can now be used for other things. This essentially doubles your space in the gun safe.

    The items are very basic bent wire. They are coated to protect against scratching the inside of the gun barrel. They would be better if they had a stabilizer attached so as to keep the hangers from rotating when putting the pistols on and off the hangers.
