Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is NOT Glock (no logo stamped on it, bent first time)
Not Glock OEM. Looks like the Glock tool, but has no Glock logo stamped on end. Bent badly on first use to take mag plate off. I used my actual Glock tool (has the official Glock logo on square end) and it worked, no bending. See attached pic, this item is on the left, with no logo and bent. On the right is my Glock (bought on Amazon as well, but sold by Glock) tool with logo and not bent even after used several times.
On a Glock you use this using your hand. I have never used a hammer with it ever. You should be able to completely take apart the glock pistol without using anything but this particular tool. It takes a bit of learning at first but my thought is if you ever find a situation where you have trouble take a step back and revisit later. I think the hardest pin to remove is the front trigger pin since sometimes you have to wiggle it around. I also recommend using the plastic edges of the handle to push in pins and when you take the rear slide plate off you can use the plastic edge to press in the fire pin assembly instead of using metal on plastic as you slide the plate back on.
The tool is excellent for the 1911 as well. I usually completely disassemble the slide on both my Glock and 1911 after a range trip to make cleaning way easier. This is a nice tool and as I said before if you ever have to use a hammer you’re doing it very wrong.
I'm fairly happy with the OEM. My first tool bent when I tried to get the trigger pin out. I now use a roll of duct tape and place the gun on top of the hole in the duct tape. It makes the gun a lot sturdier and the pin is always at the bottom of the hole.
I understand that any pin punch of the right size (and Glock only requires one size) would work. But if you don't have an armorers kit, for just a dollar or so more you know that you have the right tool.
